Has it been proven that hypnosis works for weight loss?
I have been takig diet pills to loose weight. I know the effects it has, but because of 3 different meds I am on that cause significan weight GAIN my doctor justified the pills. I have been off of them for 8 days and have gained back 5 lbs without overeating and still excercising extensively. I have a large appetite and tend to crave foods in the evening. I am a healthy person who does "all the right things" but just can't keep the weight off. I was hoping hypnosis might be the answer.

I don’t think hypnosis has ever been scientifically proven as a solution for anything.
Some people go to aura cleansers and acupuncturists and chakra alignment gurus and homeopathists and all sorts of alternative medicines to find cures for all sorts of ailments. And many of those patients see results, many don’t.
I think it all has to do with how much you believe a certain procedure will work. If you go in a skeptic, thinking something won’t help, chances are it won’t, regardless how scientifically proven or unproven it may be. But if you go in with a positive attitude, anything is possible.
Mind power is a great thing. Women have convinced themselves they are pregnant…so much so, they go through the morning sickness, develop the baby bump…everything, just like a pregnancy. Yet 9 months later, find out there’s nothing in that huge protrusion on their abdomen. That they psychosomatised themseleves into pregnancy. If a woman can get "pregnant" by just thinking she is….then theres no telling how much good or bad we inflict upon ourselves by our thoughts alone.
If you have an interest in something deeply enough, there is nothing that can stop you. There are people who tried to get hypnotized to learn how to stop smoking…didn’t work. If you want to fill fuller, just drink a bottle of water before each meal. Water makes you feel full quickly.
