I'm quite overweight and I was wondering if I should try hypnosis (I was studying its success at uni) to keep me going to lose it. I really want to lose the weight but I find it hard to stay motivated. I was wondering if anyone has had success or loss with it. And any other ideas. All advice is welcome

At one time I had some persistant pain in my legs when I sit to meditate for more than 1/2 hour and the pain bothered me all day. So I got hypnotized by a pro and after a few sessions, the pain disappeared and never came back, even after 30 years. So I say it works and worth a try.
What i found was that self-hypnosis technique, when learned and practiced properly is as effective. There are many cases where there was reported success in the case of "weight loss". However, unless you continue to self hypnotize and motivate yourself, you will go back to the habit of eating too much. When every thing is said and done, the fact remains that developing will power to cut over-eating habit and engaging in adequate calorie burning exercise are the only reliable ways to lose weight and stay fit.
Try fasting one day a week. Cut one meal from your daily intake. Cut fatty and sugary foods. Fast walking, jogging and running are excellent ways to burn a bunch of calories. Try doing it 1/2 hour to 1 hour a day for 3 to 4 days a week.
Good Luck.
