I`ve been getting quite worried about my parents for some time now. They smoke about 15-20 cigarettes a day and have been since they were 15 years old. Two of my grandparents have died of cancer, probably because of smoking, some years ago. I really don`t want them to die. So if anyone have any good suggestions so that I can get them to stop, please tell me. They have tried to quit smoking before, but I`m not sure how motivated they acctually were...

Why is Obama trying to get people to stop smoking when he can't stop? What? It's okay for the President to smoke, but not anyone else? That ain't right. I don't smoke, but my dad does and he shouldn't have to pay for a pack of cigarettes. It just ain't right.

She recently turned 18 and she has been smoking for two years now. She told me that she used to smoke a cigarette or two a month, but then she began to smoke more often. She is not a heavy smoker, but she smokes 1 or 2 cigarettes a day. I keep telling her to quit smoking before it becomes too late. She told me that she wants to stop smoking, but she is becoming addicted to it. Now I'm worried that she will smoke more cigarettes a day and then she will not be able to quit. What can I do to help her stop smoking?

Is there anything that I can take that is safe that will help me to stop smoking. During my first pregnacy long ago, the smell of cigarette smoke made me sick. I am very early in pregnacy but what can I possibly take that would not be harmful to the baby. I still have terrible cravings for cigarettes.

He's 17 years old. He started smoking over the summer to lose weight, and now he's addicted and can't stop. He says he wants to stop, and I want to help him. Getting rid of all cigarettes in his house isn't an option because both his parents smoke. (I'm not sure whether or not they allow him to do it.) I don't live near him; I only see him during holidays. What can I say to him or do for him to help him break the habit?

I don't want to substitute one drug for another (chantix, etc), but I'm really desperate to stop today! I've cut back dramatically, but it seems like when my heart rate is elevated from exercise or stress, I get a terrible craving for cigarettes. The same thing happens when I have conversations with other people, or if I see or smell someone else smoking.
Any advice from former smokers will help.. Thanks!

Everyday they smoke and everytime they do, i tell them to quit. But they just ignore me or push me aside and say something along the lines of 'dont worry, just leave me alone and i'll quit' BUT THEY SAID THAT YEARS AGO!
They cant stop smoking and after tons of learning about cigarettes in health class, im always scared! Im not the type of person to tell my parents that i cry at night about it (i dont) and stuff.
Thier too addicted, it kills thier lungs and thier wallets.
How can i stop them? One time i tried telling them to stop smoking but they just yell at me and send me to my room or something. Its bugging me ALOT.
They usually go out for a smoke whenever they can (commercial breaks) but they have a habit of ging after they eat.
My parents started smoking when they were really young (14 etc) and now thier 30 ish.
but... its hurting me so bad... i cant stand it

My parents have been smoking for years. I have asthma and I have a 3 year old little brother. My parents try not to smoke around us and used to smoke out of our chimney in the winter. But now we just moved into a new house, and there is no fireplace so they just smoke in the house. They Can't afford to use those quit smoking programs and buying cigarettes 3 times a day doesn't help. They are truly amazing people, but smoking isn't really making a good influence on others esapecially my brother and I. How can I get them to stop smoking?
